It’s a big, big world out there. Quantifyably though, it is difficult to imagine how populated the world actually is. Toward the end of last year, the globe celebrated a record 8 billion people. While you probably will never meet more than thousands of people during your lifetime, it is difficult to imagine so many people spread across the globe. When it comes to marketing and advertising, this is especially relevant when it comes to thinking about how to make something regionally and culturally appropriate and interesting. This is also a complex matter when looking across multiple countries and generations of people to add to the mix.
What’s next in our race to the next billion people on the planet? It is likely that we will reach 9 billion people at a faster per billion rate than ever before. In addition, many nations may rise and fall in prominence when it comes to health, contributing to GDP, and innovation. We all have a role to play.
