According to a post in the YouTube help forum, creators will no longer have access to the site’s Video Editor or Photo slideshows as of September 20, 2017.
YouTube says it is closing the features as a result of limited usage.
“We’re retiring them to focus our efforts on building new tools and improving on other existing features,” writes the forum community manager who penned the post.
While the Video Editor feature will cease to exist after September 20, YouTube says videos already published using the tool will not be affected. Creators can perform editing tasks (like trimming, blurring and filters) using the Enhancements feature within the Video Manager.
YouTube says creators should download any of their videos from YouTube to retrieve original files should they want to remix into a new video.
